What is recorded here
Indicated is a hidden fairy fort in County Longford, buried beneath a house and garden on a rise above low pasture. It appeared as a circular enclosure on the 1837 map, but human building erased the visible rim. The fort may still breathe underneath the floors, waiting for the house to empty or the ground to give back what it took.
On a rise in otherwise low-lying pasture. Depicted as a circular enclosure on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. The monument is occupied by a dwelling-house and garden and is not visible at ground level.
