Half-swallowed by grass at the foot of Benbo Mountain, the Cloonaquin ringfort keeps its shape in a shallow earthen bank that a field wall now claims on one side. Its entrance has vanished, leaving a smooth, unbroken circle that invites imagination rather than explanation. People may have lived inside, excluded, or simply marked the boundary between the known and the unseen.

Located at the foot of the E-facing slope of Benbo Mountain c. 150-200m from the W bank of the N-S Bonet River. Grass-covered circular area (int. diam. 25.8m N-S) defined by an intermittently visible, overgrown, earthen bank, which is best preserved N-E (Wth c. 2m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.7m), and is incorporated into a field wall S-W. There is no visible fosse and an original entrance is not identified.
