Cloghaunsavaun holds a faded earthen ring, the kind of boundary people drew when they wanted to keep something inside or keep something else out. It is not a grand castle, not a display of power, but a small firm line in the ground: a place for living, hiding, remembering, or refusing to be forgotten. In Clare, even humble earth can sound like warning. The ring does not need to be beautiful. It needs only to remain visible long enough to remind us that the land was never empty.
