Fairy fort in Cloghan, County Offaly: a 27 m circular earthwork on a north-west slope, its bank now a 1.5 m scarp with a faint outer ditch trace. A field fence cuts across the east and south, yet the original enclosing bank still stands in places. People may have lived, herded or hidden there before the name changed; the earth keeps the shape of that lost certainty.

Situated on NW facing slope of rising ground in upland area. Remains of a circular area (diam 27m) enclosed by a bank mainly reduced to a scarp (ext. H 1.5m) with slight evidence of an external fosse. Field fence intersects site from E to S where original enclosing bank still survives.
