What is recorded here

Clochan in Gleann Fán is a small burial place hidden beside the valley, preserving the shape of human loss long after the people who made it vanished. The valley still drops rain across the stones, and the stones still hold the memory of hands that arranged them. What is missing is not nothing. It is the life that gave the place its meaning.

Macalister (1899, 257) recorded that a cairn at this location was said to be the site of a clochaun. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
