Hut site in Cill Rialaigh

Located in rough, rocky terrain on a SE facing slope, about 40m SW of an early ecclesiastical site (N/A). Two large uprights, orientated N-S and set .67m apart, probably define the entrance to a ruined hut. The uprights average 1.37m high, .8m wide and .36m thick. Bedrock and boulders may have been incorporated into the basal construction of the walls. Rough coursing overlies the bedrock at N, and a sheepfold abuts its internal face. The site was interpreted by Lynch as a 'cromlech' (1902b, 327). The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
