Stands c. 20m SE of GA111-022006-. A rectangular mortared pier (L 0.95m, Wth 0.85m, H 1.95m) surmounted by a cross, now fallen, bearing the letters IHS. The NE face contains two plaques commemorating 'Patrk Flaherty', dated 1830. (Robinson 1980) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
Linked to St. Einne (or Eibhlin), this site is associated with early Christian worship in Ireland. The presence of the IHS monogram suggests a later Catholic devotion, possibly 17th- to 18th-century, while the cross and pier reflect an ancient tradition of sacred waystations or memorial markers.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
