What is recorded here

Reentrusk preserves a children's burial ground inside Teampull na Dithreabhaigh, where low uninscribed markers occupy the entire church interior. The place still carries the weight of young lives lost before writing or ceremony could name them.
In the interior of a church (CO114-021002-), known locally as 'Teampull na Dithreabhaigh'. Low uninscribed grave-markers occupy the entire interior of the church. This is known locally as a cillíneach or children's burial ground (O'Shea and Crowley 1972, 43). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
