What is recorded here

indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Charlestown, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a circular unplanted area about fifty metres across on a gentle southeast-facing slope near a River Shannon loop. A broad earthen bank defines the perimeter, though no entrance or ditch remains visible. The surrounding coniferous forest leaves the ancient earthwork clearly marked.

On a gentle SE-facing slope in a loop of the River Shannon which is c. 550m to the SW and c. 330m to the NE. Circular overgrown area which remains unplanted in a coniferous forest (diam. c. 50m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5-6m; int. H 0.4-1m; ext. H 1.4-2m). There is no recognisable fosse or entrance.
