Taylor and Skinner's map in 1777 placed a windmill at Chanonrock, but the Ordnance Survey in 1835 reduced it to ruins. The sails may have stripped barley for miles around before rot or storm took the structure. Men may have leaned against the broken walls, listening for ghosts of grain still flying through the air.
Indicated on Taylor and Skinner's map (1777) and 'Ruins of Windmill' noted on the 1835 'OS 6-inch' map.
