Platform

Located towards the W edge of Cloonshannagh bog, c. 28m SE of togher (RO024-023----) and just N of platform (RO024-050----), although it is c. 0.6m deeper than the latter. This platform (Wth 5.46m; T 0.45m) was exposed in the drain face, 0.50m below the field surface. It was orientated NE-SW and was composed of moderately well preserved longitudinally laid roundwood and brushwood underlain by a small number of transversely laid roudwood elements. This sighting was less structured than the overlying (RO024-049----) with the elements laid 0.03 to 0.28m apart. The roundwood and brushwood ranged from 0.065 to 0.19m and from 0.03 to 0.05m in diameter, respectively.
