What is recorded here

Indicated was an enclosure on a ridge in Offaly that vanished after 1840 when quarrying cut through its north side. It appeared on the first OS map but disappeared from later ones, suggesting the land itself was consumed rather than abandoned. The ridge still stands, stripped of its marker, preserving the shape of what was taken instead of the thing taken.

Situated on top of an E-W ridge in undulating countryside. Natural ridge which has been quarried on its N side with no evidence of any archaeological features visible. Probably destroyed after 1840 as it was marked on the 1840 edition of the OS 6-inch map and not on the later editions.
