Castle

Castle, unclassified

What is recorded here

Daars South hides a castle so deep that no boundary line can still point to it. The Down Survey named the place in 1655, yet later divisions smudged the castle from human memory. It may be buried under grass, forgotten under a field, or waiting beneath the soil for someone to stop moving the lines and listen.
Recorded on the Down Survey (1655-6). The adjacent townland boundaries have changed considerably since, and the precise location of the castle is unknown. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 10 June 2011
