RATH in Cassidy, County Fermanagh, is a marked archaeological site where a Rath once broke the green field. The official record preserves the name and point but gives no date or owner, leaving the place open to wonder. A Rath is a defended ring, a boundary drawn in earth and stone, so it may have been a home, a refuge or a claim of power. Under the grass that line may still be waiting to be touched.
