What is recorded here

indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrowreagh (roscommon By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a rocky terrace on an east-facing slope about twenty metres west of a north-south stream. A grass-covered circular area measures roughly nineteen to twenty metres across, bounded partly by a shallow fosse and partly by a two-and-a-half-metre berm. A slight outer bank recorded in 1981 is no longer evident, while Rath lies about one hundred and forty metres to the north-northwest.

On a rocky terrace of an E-facing slope with a N-S stream c. 20m to the E. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 19.5m E-W; 19m N-S) defined by a fosse (Wth of base 2-2.5m; int. D 0.4-0.7m; ext. D 0.1-0.3m) SE-W-N, and a berm (Wth 2.5m) elsewhere. There is a record of a slight outer bank S-N in 1981 (SMR file), which is no longer evident. Rath (RO017-007----) is c. 140m to the NNW.
