What is recorded here

Cloghtogle was a megalithic tomb in County Donegal, marked on the original 1834 map but erased from every edition since. No trace remains today, and the 1834 memoir offered no description of its shape or purpose. Whatever stones stood there has vanished completely, leaving behind only a name and a gap where a chamber or passage should be.

This feature was shown on the original OS 6-inch map (1834) but not on subsequent editions. There is now no trace of it. An entry in the OS Memoirs (1834) mentions the site but provides no information on its nature.
