Carrowmore holds a broken ring of thirty-six metres where stone and earth still resist the pasture. The ditch has vanished, the bank has cracked, and the underground passage waits beneath the grass like a held breath. What remains is not a complete fortress but a circular suggestion, large enough to have excluded people and strange enough to invite them back.

In open pastureland. A poorly preserved circular rath (diam. 36m) defined by a stone-faced bank of earth and stone which survives intermittently and is surrounded by a berm-like feature from NE through E to SW. McCaffrey (1952, 256, no. 6) noted an ‘almost completely filled up’ fosse; no visible surface trace of it survives. A possible Man-made underground passage (GA105-057001-) is associated.
