What is recorded here

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carricklom, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a broad low hill as a circular grass-covered area measuring 30.5m north-south and 28.5m east-west. An earthen bank 5.5m wide defines the eastern and southern edges, while an overgrown scarp marks the northern and western boundaries. Two other raths stand 60m west and 110m southeast, completing a small cluster of ancient earthworks on the same landscape.

On a broad low hill. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 30.5m N-S; 28.5m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5.5m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 1.45m) E-S, and elsewhere by an overgrown scarp (H 0.7m at N to 1.4m at S). There is no visible fosse or entrance. The perimeter is partly obscured by spoil, and circumscribed by a field bank W-N.
