What is recorded here

Carrickittle holds a triangular limestone slab, four feet high and one foot thick, still standing where people set it or left it behind. O'Kelly measured its clean edges in 1944, but the stone itself is older than measurement, perhaps marking a boundary, a burial, a meeting place or a warning nobody remembers. Its shape suggests human choice rather than river drift.
