What is recorded here
Section of part creeper- or ivy-covered coursed rubble stone estate wall, extant 1839, with rubble stone soldier course coping. Road fronted at perimeter of grounds of Newtownbarry House.
An estate wall not only making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at the perimeter of the grounds of the Newtownbarry House estate, but also surviving as an interesting relic of the preceding Woodfield estate sold (1854) by Somerset Richard Maxwell (1803-84), eighth Baron Farnham, through the Encumbered Estates Court (cf. 15602008 - 15602010; 15602012).
