What is recorded here

Indicated is a circular earthworks in West Cork, a place where human hands shaped the land long before modern buildings crowded around it. The broken bank and narrow opening suggest a threshold, a place of entry and exit rather than a sealed chamber. Sheds and steps have since claimed parts of the ring, but the old shape still holds, marking a time when people lived inside or beside such a fort.

In pasture, on break in S-facing slope. Circular area (28.2m N-S; 27.2m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.7m), stone faced in parts. Break in bank to E (Wth 2.5m). Approached by concrete steps from modern bungalow. Modern shed abuts site to N. Two wooden sheds erected in interior. Partially overgrown.
