Structure

A severely damaged, regular deposit of mixed brushwood and some twigs on the field surface (L 1.4m min.; Wth 0.65m; D 0.02m). The brushwood is densely laid and orientated NW-SE. Two metal-cut worked ends are evident. This site may represent the remains of a more substantial linear structure. The wood is desiccated and fragmentary and set in well-humified Sphagnum peat with pockets of poorly humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2002. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
