Structure

A deposit of six pieces of brushwood and some twigs on the field surface (L 3.29m; Wth 0.65m; D 0.11m). The brushwood (diam. 0.015-0.055m) is regularly spaced and orientated NW-SE. A single wedge point is evident. The wood is in poor condition and set in well-humified Sphagnum peat with some Eriophorum. SMR OF003-029---- is 2.16m to the NE and the sites appear to converge to the N. SMR OF003-026---- and SMR OF003-027---- are c. 5m to the SW. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2002. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
