Half-buried on a rocky ridge above the River Swilly, the fort keeps a twenty-metre circular memory that chart makers still believe they see. It is no longer a proud wall but a scattered hem of earth and small stones, perhaps the western edge of a house that once faced the water. That much of it has vanished does not diminish it; it suggests the hill took back what it could. A person standing there would not need to imagine much, because the ground has already arranged itself into a room.

Internal diam. c. 20m. An irregular semi-circular scatter of earth and small stones is probably the W side of the single-ringed enclosure shown on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map. It was situated on the summit of a ridge of rock outcrop on the S slope of a hill running down to the River Swilly.
