Mound in Belesker sits on the highest point of a narrow esker spine in County Mayo, offering excellent views across the surrounding landscape. The small circular rise measures barely four metres across and less than a metre high, yet its flat top and prominent position suggest deliberate human shaping rather than random geology. Cattle graze around it now, unaware that they walk past a place someone once built or marked to be seen from a distance.

In pasture, prominently sited on the highest point on the narrow spine of a steep-sided esker which extends NE–SW in a sinuous line. The location provides excellent views of the surrounding landscape. A small, roughly circular rise (4.4m N–S; 3.2m E–W; H 0.45-0.7m) with a flat top (diam. 1.7m). Neolithic passage tomb, dating to approximately 3000–2500 BCE. Its prominent location suggests it may have had ceremonial or ritual significance, offering panoramic views that could have been important for navigation, territorial markers, or symbolic connections to the landscape.
