No visible trace remains at Baunoges, though local memory still shapes the hidden fort into a fairy abode. That is not a mistake of imagination but a clue about the place: it withdraws from ordinary sight and becomes a test of whether people still believe it exists. The missing fort may be the true shape of the story, waiting for someone to stop wanting proof and start answering it.
