Two barrow circles in County Carlow, Ireland. Both disappeared when soil strippers cut through them. One fosse survived long enough to measure: seventy centimetres wide, thirty deep. Burnt clay and charcoal filled it. Two ring-ditches may have marked the circles before they vanished. The land kept that much. The men with machines took the rest.

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Two 'circles' uncovered and destroyed during soil stripping. Length of fosse examined by NMI (Wth 0.7m; D 0.3m). Burnt clay and charcoal noted. Possibly two ring-ditches.
