What is recorded here

Indicated is a twenty-metre drystone circle on a sunny Leitrim hillside, mapping a small field that likely served the abandoned Banagher cottages. The wall still stands one metre high despite years of neglect, preserving the shape of a workspace now forgotten by most people. It is not a grand monument but a humble boundary, waiting for someone to imagine the hands that stacked its stones and the daily life that moved around them.

Indicated as a small enclosure only on the 1910 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and located in a slight fold towards the top of the S-facing slope of a prominent hill. Overgrown subcircular area (diam. c. 20m) defined by a drystone wall (Wth 0.4m; H 1m). This is probably a small field associated with the nearby Banagher settlement of small cottages, now abandoned.
