Embanked enclosure

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Banada, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a gentle south-facing slope as a circular grass and reed-covered area measuring thirty-two metres northeast-southwest and twenty-eight point seven metres northwest-southeast. An overgrown earthen bank two to two point six metres wide and zero point three to zero point eight metres high internally defines the boundary, though it reduces to a zero point two metre scarp southwest-northwest alongside a narrow fosse. A broad eight point three metre entrance opens toward the southeast, while Rath lies one hundred metres southwest.
