Barrow

In level wet pasture. Ring-barrow (TS057-036----) is located c. 40m to the NE and a barrow (TS057-010----) is located c. 180m to the SW. Low circular flat-topped mound (diam top. 7-8m; H 0.5m) enclosed by a wide flat-bottomed fosse (Wth at base 1.75m; overall Wth 4.5m; D 0.4m) with an intermediate flat-topped earthen berm (Wth at top 4m) and an external wide flat-bottomed fosse (Wth at base 1.75m; overall Wth 2.95; D 0.4m). The fosses and the intermediate bank are absent from SE-SW where a modern drain truncates the S side of the central mound and the external fosse has been infilled from SW to W. A modern entrance (Wth 4m), where the fosses have been partially infilled, allows access to the interior at E. Interior is dry and clear of overgrowth. Stepped barrow, likely dating to the Early Bronze Age. Its stepped construction and low circular flat-topped mound suggest a regional variation in burial monument design, reflecting local funerary practices of the period.
