What is recorded here

Gateway, extant 1839, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of cut-granite panelled piers on moulded cushion courses on plinths having "Cavetto" stringcourses below fluted pyramidal capping supporting cast-iron double gates with cut-granite panelled outer piers on moulded cushion courses on plinths having "Cavetto" stringcourses below fluted pyramidal capping supporting cast-iron railings. Now disused. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Ballyrankin House.
A gateway forming part of a self-contained group alongside an opposing gate lodge (see 15701924) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at an entrance on to the grounds of the Ballyrankin House estate.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
