Enclosure in Ballynora

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Depicted as roughly rectangular enclosure (c. 40m N-S; c. 30m E-W) on 1842, 1903, and 1940 OS 6-inch map. Inaccessible due to overgrowth. Walsh (1985, 55, 123, no. 108) describes 'irregular enclosure' enclosed by bank (H 0.6m) with external fosse (D 1.2m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
