Indicated was a circular tree-ring in County Limerick, visible on maps from 1841 to 1923, when a five-metre fosse and earthen bank still held its shape atop a gradual rise. It disappeared in 1977, buried under ploughing and holes dug for fallen trees, perhaps never ancient at all but a designed landscape made by human hands for shade, marker or pleasure. What was cleverly built became pasture again, its purpose lost with the soil turned over.

In pasture, atop gradual rise. Monument, depicted on both 1841 and 1923 OS 6-inch maps as circular enclosure (diam. c. 50m) planted with trees, has been levelled. According to landowner, enclosure and abutting field boundaries at NW and E were levelled in 1977. Landowner described site as consisting of a circular area enclosed by a fosse (Wth c. 5m) with an external earthen bank (max. H c. 1.6m) and with an entrance at W. According to landowner, interior deep ploughed several times and large holes dug to bury fallen trees. May have been a tree-ring rather than an ancient enclosure.
