What is recorded here

Indicated is a circular earthen ringfort in marshy Limerick pasture, its twenty-two-metre boundary marked by a low bank and shallow fosse. Cattle have worn the inner edge almost flat while mature trees hold the crest steady, and briars fill the centre like a forgotten room. The stones of human intention have vanished, but the shape remains clear enough to suggest that people once drew a line around life itself and asked the land to remember it.
In marshy pasture, on SE-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 22.4m) enclosed by earthen bank with external fosse. Bank (int. H 0.15m; ext. H 1.05m) low internally due to erosion by cattle; mature trees grow long its crest. Fosse (Wth 0.75m; D 0.25m) evident all round but most substantial NW->E. Interior overgrown with briars and brambles. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
