What is recorded here

No visible stone fort remains in Ballymaquiff North, only level pastureland where a double-faced wall once stood about thirty metres across. The name Fairy fort suggests people believed the place belonged to more than human law, while the stone structure points to a residence, shelter or marker built by human hands. What is missing has not stopped the site existing; it has removed the part that could be pointed at.

In level pastureland. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 264, no. 56) as a circular ‘Stone fort’ (diam. c. 30m) defined by a double-faced drystone wall which was ruined to its foundations.
