Fairy fort in Ballymackesy is a shallow earthen ring, barely half a metre high, set in damp pasture on a slight slope. Cattle have poached the ground and farm machinery has churned the surface, yet the circular edge still marks a place old enough to belong before living memory. The interior slopes downward toward the southwest, as if the earth itself leaned out to watch the valley.

In damp pasture, on slight SW-facing slope. Circular area (18.6m E-W; 17.35m N-S) defined by scarped edge (H 0.45m; Wth 2.95m). Entire site recently cleared of bushes and loose stones; surface now much churned up by farm machinery and also poached by cattle. Interior slopes down to SW.
