What is recorded here

Ballymackesy holds a ghost circle twenty-six metres wide, visible only when sunlight strikes the grass at the right angle. A ringfort may have stood there before men levelled it to soil, but the earth remembers the shape of walls that no longer exist. The enclosure waits beneath the turf, patient as bone, marking the boundary between what was built and what was forgotten.
In grassland, with ringfort (LI036-066----) 1050 to SSE. Cropmark of circular-shaped area (diam. c. 26m) visible on Digital Globe orthophoto taken 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 24/06/2018. Could be the remains of a levelled ringfort. See attached Google Earth orthoimages Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien based on details provided by Joe O'Connor Date of upload: 4 March 2021
