What is recorded here
Ballyhine holds a burial site in County Mayo, though no visible marker remains to identify it. The land may have swallowed a life so completely that only the memory of loss persists beneath the grass. What was buried there has returned to the earth, leaving behind a quiet absence that still shapes the place.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
