Earthwork in Ballyhacket Upper

Ballyhacket Upper holds a broken ringfort where a twenty-metre-wide fosse still cuts through pasture. Its eastern mound rises eight to nine metres above that ditch, preserving the last visible edge of a much larger circle. The missing western parts suggest repeated cutting, building or forgetting rather than a single abandoned design. What remains is not a complete fortress but a measurable fragment of someone else's repeated labour.
