Structure

A deposit (Wth 0.75m; D 0.23m) of heavy brushwood, light roundwoods and occasional twigs in the drain face. The pieces are predominantly orientated E-W with no clear structural evidence and the wood is in poor condition. Two chisel points were recorded. Wood species include mainly birch, with ash and oak also recorded. The site is located within well-humified Sphagnum peat with fibrous roots. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
