Structure

A dispersed deposit of brushwood and twigs in opposing drain faces (Wth 3.1m; D 0.3m). Wood species are dominated by birch with willow also represented. The site is situated in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum. This is the most N site in a series of comparable sites along a 34m long stretch in this drain face which includes OF-BLY 0042 c. 0.4m to the SE. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
