Structure

An arrangement (Wth 1.31m; D 0.22m) of three oak planks, which appear to be orientated E-W, and a small amount of brushwood. The planks (Wth 0.17-0.2m; D 0.05-0.09m) are widely spaced and vary slightly in their levels within the peat with no clear structure apparent. Distinct toolmarks are not recorded. It is situated in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with Calluna and Eriophorum. This site has been dendrochronologically dated to AD 624±9 (Q9286). It is located c. 4m NW of SMR OF015-150----. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
