Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballyconnell

Fairy forts hide inside ordinary fields, waiting for memory rather than medals. That is what this lost ring did beside Ballyconnell: a small circular room in the land, young enough to still be drawn on maps, old enough to belong before human records began. The fieldbank cut through its south side like a knife through a sentence, not destroying the meaning but changing where the breath goes. Under the soil it may still be whole, a chamber for dreams, rain or forgotten people, while above it the grass forgets the shape of the room.
