What is recorded here
Mound in Ballinvallig is a hidden oval of earth in County Limerick, now buried beneath briars and bushes. It lies forty metres from a ringfort, suggesting the mound and fort belonged to one lived world. The thicket may be guarding what people stopped seeing, not what disappeared.
In level pasture. The monument, which is depicted as an oval mound (c. 20m E-W; c. 15m N-S) on the 1924 OS 6-inch map, is now covered by a dense thicket of briars and bushes. A ringfort (LI036-141---) lies 40m to the SE.
