Entrance gateway, built c.1880, to St Brandon House. Square-profile ashlar limestone piers having chamfered plinths, string course, recessed panels and cast-iron gates. Chamfered ashlar limestone plinth walls surmounted by cast-iron railing to north and south. Rubble stone wall with soldier coping to west with two round-headed pedestrian entrances having polychromatic brick archivolts, now blocked up.

A fine entrance relating to St Brandon's House, located to the south-east. The materials utilised in the construction of these gates make a positive and notable addition to the streetscape. The carved limestone details and the crisp ashlar were clearly executed by skilled stone cutters and masons, while the railings and gates are excellent examples of the high quality design possibilities of cast-iron.
