St Brendans Ch stood on high ground above the Lee river docks, serving sailors and directing tithes to a local leper hospital. The building vanished before modern mapping, leaving only a small circular stone mound marked as the site of the church. That mound still rests near a house entrance, preserving the memory of a worship place that disappeared while its burial ground remained active.
On high ground overlooking Lee river, on N side of Glanmire road, above former docks. Known as sailor's church; its tithes were at one time appropriated to leper hospital of 'Glenmaggyr' (Glanmire?) and 'its burial ground continued in use long after the church itself had fallen into decay' (Bolster 1972, 301). Not marked on 1842 and 1902 OS 6-inch map; 'site of' on 1950 map now part of entry to 19th century house. According to Whyte (1986, 19), 'the only remaining relic .. is a small circular mound of stones' on the W boundary of garden, c. 100m to N; 'overgrown .. believed to be part of the chancel of the early church.' No structural remains visible.

St Brendan's Church at Ballinamought West, known as the sailor's church, was likely built in the medieval period, with its tithes historically supporting the leper hospital of Glenmaggyr (possibly Glanmire). Dedicated to St Brendan, it reflects the religious and maritime significance of the area.
