Quadrant entrance gateway, built c.1830, as entrance to Hyde Park House. Square-profile pedimented ashlar limestone piers having recessed round-headed panels with keystones, cornices and plinths and cast-iron gates. Ashlar limestone quadrant plinth walls to east and west with cast-iron railings.

These entrance gates relate to Hyde Park House, located to the north, and form an interesting group of related structures with the associated gate lodge. The carved limestone details and the crisp ashlar were clearly executed by skilled stone cutters and masons, while the fine gates and railings are representative of the quality of cast-iron design and casting in the past. The ensemble contributes to both the setting and context of the house, and to the streetscape.
