Kelly's Cave is a man-made limestone passage near Cong, County Mayo, containing two rectangular chambers, carved benches, and a roof hole that admits daylight. Local tradition claims a fugitive named Kelly sheltered there after the 1798 Rebellion or survived the Penal era as a highwayman, while other accounts link it to a medieval hermitage beside Cong Abbey. Four steps descend to an underground stream, suggesting the dark chamber served as a quiet refuge for whoever needed to disappear.

In a ringfort (MA050-004001-). This Man-made underground passage is indicated on the 1838 and 1929 OS 6-inch maps as ‘Cave’ on the W perimeter of the ringfort.
