What is recorded here
Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Arranagh stands in level pasture, a circular area forty metres wide enclosed by inner and outer earthen banks with a fosse between them. The interior has become impenetrable scrub, hiding whatever life once filled the ring. People may have built it to keep out rain, invaders or unwanted thought, then left it to the fairies and forgetting.
In level pasture. Circular area (diam. c. 40m) enclosed by inner earthen bank (ext. H 2.5m), with intervening fosse (Wth 2.6m) and external earthen bank (int. H 1.15m; ext. H 0.5m). Interior is covered by impenetrable scrub overgrowth.
