U 110

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records U 110 as Submarine (period Unassigned)-(1918). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

U 110 was a German U-boat (Type U 31) captured by the British in 1917 and later sunk off the coast of Scotland in 1918. It was lost following a mine explosion, with no lives lost and carrying a significant cargo of gold and silver as war reparations.
